The Térraba-Sierpe National Wetland is the largest in Costa Rica, formed by the two rivers Térraba and Sierpe, covering more than 26,779 hectares. It is the second largest in Central America. On this daytime adventure, it’s perfect for observing species that are usually active during the day, like monkeys, birds, sloths, some snakes, and the secondary forest along the river.
The mangrove expedition by catamaran is suitable for the whole family, and under law 7600, there’s no hiking involved. The trip includes a guide and captain and lasts about 3 hours on the river, where you’ll discover a variety of animals, such as white-faced monkeys, titi monkeys, boas, birds, turtles, and other species.
